RUN UNITED 2020

Run United 2020 is a virtual movement by United Way of Chennai for Daan Utsav 2020 (Joy of Giving Week) to support street vendors in Tamil Nadu. 63 Aspirians in India registered and participated in the virtual run, held between October 02 - 11, covering 1600+ kms.
SUPPORT TO CHILD CARE HOMES



Continuing our efforts to do our bit to the community, we have dispatched chocolates and beverage supplies to three childcare homes (with the help of our NGO Partner BHUMI) in Chennai during September 2020. The package for each home included 300 Kgs of milk and coffee powder premix, and 50 Kgs of chocolates in different flavours.
SUPPORTING NEEDY WITH THE FUNDS RAISED FROM WALKATHON 2020



As a part of our Women’s Day 2020 celebration, Tulips (our all women committee) had organized a walkathon through which we raised funds of INR 141,250. The funds were utilized to support our contract labours who have lost income due to the lockdown in July 2020 and to a couple of orphanages (with the help of our NGO partner BHUMI) to buy basic necessities and grocery items in August 2020.
AUDIO BOOK RECORDING

In July 2020, over 30 volunteers from Aspire supported our NGO partner BHUMI in recording audio books for visually challenged students. The volunteers recorded close to 1000 pages of higher secondary textbooks in audio format, which BHUMI will be distributing to the home and schools for visually challenged.
BLACK BOARD PAINTING





More than 30 Aspirians volunteered to paint the black boards in Govt Hr Sec School, Thiruporur on 22nd February 2020. The event was organized in coordination with our NGO partner Team Everest.
OMR RUN



More than 100 Aspirians participated in the OMR RUN organized on 02nd February 2020 in Chennai by Rotary Club of Chennai Upscale. Aspire sponsored for all the participants from Aspire and proceeds from the event will be utilized by the rotary club for school education of underprivileged children.
VISIT TO ORPHANAGE





Aspire volunteers from Chennai visited Saibaba Gurukulam (Orphanage) on 04th January 2020 and spent time with the kids through games, music and dance etc. Volunteers also donated funds to sponsor lunch for the kids and Aspire (company) contributed funds to procure some basic necessities like towels, etc. for the kids.
WINTER CLOTHES DONATION



Aspire volunteers in Hyderabad organized clothes collection drive in the office and collected both winter/daily wear clothes and donated the same to Goonj (NGO) for distribution to homeless/needy people. Volunteers from our office handed over the clothes to Goonj on 03rd January 2020.
AGRICULTURE - COMMUNITY FARMING

About 10 – 15 Aspirians took part in a Paddy Transplantation activity organized by Vallam Community Farm in Ponmar on 28th and 29th December 2019. This helped Aspirians understand agriculture/farming better while having a day of physical work in an open field contrary to their otherwise closed office space.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP



Blood donation camp was organized by Voluntary Health Services unit in Aspire Siruseri campus on 06th December 2019 and about 80 units of blood was donated by Aspire volunteers.
DIWALI FOR ALL





Aspirians donated funds to Team Everest to help about 100 people from economically backward sections of the society to celebrate DIWALI with new clothes. Aspire is glad to be of support to Team Everest’s DIWALI FOR ALL campaign in Oct/Nov 2019.
WISH TREE





As part of Daan Utsav Celebrations, Sevalaya had set up its WISH TREE in Aspire’s Navalur and Siruseri campus on 16th &17th October 2019. Aspirians fulfilled the simple wishes of children like toys, school bags, shoes etc studying in Sevalaya schools. 60+ wishes were fulfilled by Aspirians!
EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL CREATION





More than 15 Aspirians volunteered to support Team Everest in the preparation of educational materials for children studying in Government Schools. This activity was arranged by Team Everest in Aspire’s Siruseri campus 0n 17th October 2019 as part of Daan Utsav (Festival of Giving) celebrations.
BLACK BOARD PAINTING





More than 30 Aspirians volunteered to paint the black boards in Govt Hr Sec School, Kelambakkam on 24th August 2019. The event was organized in coordination with our NGO partner Team Everest.
GREEN DAY





Aspire volunteers participated in Chennai Trekking Club - Ainthinai’s Green Day (Saplings Plantation) in Mambakkam on 11th August 2019. This is the 6th edition of Green Day event organized by CTC and Aspire volunteers have participated in almost all the editions with great enthusiasm.
FIELD VISIT





Aspire volunteers supported BHUMI, our NGO partner, in organizing a field trip to Government Musuem on 28th July 2019 for students from a government school located in Chennai. About 50 students participated in this trip and our volunteers coordinated the entire event and provided guidance to the students.
GIFT PAINTING



Team Everest, our NGO partner, conducted various competitions for school children throughout the year and distributes prizes. Aspire supported them in procuring prizes for few competitions. The gifts procured were hand-painted by Aspire volunteers on 24th July 2019, in order to make them more attractive and provide a more personal touch.
BHUMI RUN





Aspire volunteers participated in the BHUMI Run (Marathon) on 07th April, 2019 in Chennai. The funds from the event will be utilized by BHUMI for education of underprivileged children.
MATH MELA





Aspire volunteers helped BHUMI (NGO partner) to conduct Math online Assessment for kids studying in BHUMI supported study centers. The assessment was organized at Aspire’s Siruseri campus for 40 students on 16th March, 2019.
BALA – Building As a Learning Aid





Aspire volunteers provided support to BHUMI (NGO partner) in their BALA initiative (Building As a Learning Aid) to paint the classrooms/compound walls of the Government Middle School located in Arumbakkam, Chennai on March 02nd, 2019.
SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS





We have partnered with Rotary club of Madras central and provided them funding support to make infrastructure improvements for a Government School Chennai. This is part of Happy School Program of RCMC which aims to provide / upgrade the infrastructural and co-scholastic facilities in state funded schools, to make them secure, attractive and happy learning places for students and teachers.
We have also partnered with Abhaya foundation & 100 Smiles Charity foundation to provide digital class rooms & RO water purifier units to identified 3 schools located in the rural regions in Telangana.
DISASTER RELIEF DONATION





Aspirians across geographies came forward to help victims of Kerala flood and Gaja cyclone in 2018. Aspire also provided matching contribution both the times. The funds collected were provided to credible NGOs in the field to support relief operations. In addition, employees also collected relief materials and some of them participated in the field relief operations.
CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

50 Students from Thakkar Bappa nursery & primary school, SRS Sarvodya girl’s hostel visited Aspire Siruseri campus and celebrated Children’s day on 13th November 2018. Students were engaged by our employees with games, dance performance etc. Students also watched cartoon movies and enjoyed lunch with our employees.
JOY OF GIVING





Aspire Systems celebrated Daan Utsav by setting up a WISH TREE in association with NGO Sevalaya in its Siruseri and Navalur campus on 04th and 05th October 2018. Aspirians fulfilled the small wishes (school bags, toys etc.) of underprivileged children studying in Sevalaya School.
Aspirians supported Team Everest’s DIWALI FOR ALL initiative in November 2018. DIWALI FOR ALL is an initiative of Team Everest to help kids and adults from economically backward sections of the society to celebrate Diwali (festival of lights, one of the most popular festivals celebrated in India). New clothes were provided with the donations collected by Team Everest to orphans, homeless people, senior citizens in old age home etc. on occasion of DIWALI. Aspirians helped to support about 60 beneficiaries
SUPPORT TO RAMAMOORTHY TRUST

Aspire provided funding support to Ramamoorthy Education & Rehabilitation Trust in July 2018 to support infrastructure, utility and rental expenses of the home managed by the trust. The home accommodates single parent/parentless and economically backward children and also provides them with support for higher education.
GREEN DRIVE



Aspire volunteers supported BHUMI and Sahaj marg spirituality foundation to create green cover (afforestation) in kolunthalur village, Thiruvallur district on 21st July 2018 through saplings plantation. Volunteers are proud to have spent their time and effort on a weekend to support this environmental campaign.
Volunteers from Aspire participated in Green Day event organized by Chennai Trekking Club’s Ainthinai group on 29th July 2018 in Mambakkam. About 1000+ saplings were planted on this day with the support of more than 450+ volunteers and our heartfelt thanks to all volunteers and kudos to Aspirians who were part of this event.
COMPUTER FOR ALL

Computer for All is a program of Team Everest to provide digital literacy to government school students. Aspire volunteers spent weekends for a period of 3 to 6 months (June 2018 – November 2018) to teach basic computer skills to government school students.
I AM THE CHANGE



The scholarship program “I AM THE CHANGE” launched by TEAM EVEREST provides scholarship for parentless/single parented children from economically backward sections to pursue college education. Team Aspire and Team Everest in the month of May 2018, together validated, verified and evaluated the applications by performing home visits.
BALA – BUILDING AS S LEARNING AID





Volunteers from Aspire provided support to BHUMI (NGO Partner) in their BALA initiative (Building As a Learning Aid) to paint the classrooms of the Panchayat Union Middle School located in Thiruneermalai, Chennai on 26th May 2018.
ENGLISH TEST AND EVALUATION





Aspire volunteers evaluated English (reading & writing) skills of more than 700 children of rural study centers managed by Team Everest (NGO Partner). The evaluation was carried out in a phased manner in 3 visits (March, April & September 2018). Our volunteers also distributed the certificates to all successful candidates.
