Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Accounting professional to support revenue recognition, customer invoicing, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities. The candidate will work closely with Business Finance, Operations, Sales, Project Management, and Corporate Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue accounting in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Revenue Accounting
- Perform revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Review customer contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), purchase orders, and amendments to determine the appropriate revenue treatment.
- Validate project setup, billing milestones, and revenue schedules.
- Ensure the accuracy of revenue accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
2.Billing & Invoicing
- Generate and validate customer invoices based on contractual terms.
- Coordinate with delivery and business teams to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure timely invoicing and revenue realization.
- Monitor unbilled revenue and deferred revenue balances.
3. Reconciliations & Month-End Close
- Perform monthly revenue reconciliations and account analysis.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Investigate and resolve revenue-related discrepancies.
4. Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain adequate documentation for revenue transactions.
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and SOX/control testing.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Assist with GST, TDS, and other regulatory reporting requirements, where applicable.
5. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly revenue reports and variance analyses.
- Track key revenue metrics and business performance indicators.
- Provide management with revenue-related insights and reports.
- Support forecasting and budgeting activities.
6. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Participate in system enhancement and ERP-related projects.
- Maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in Revenue Accounting, Financial Accounting, or Record-toReport (R2R) processes. Required Skills
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles.
- Knowledge of accounting standards such as Ind AS, IFRS, or ASC 606.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
