Use Cases
Web-Based and Mobile-Based Applications
Amazon RDS is popularly used in the back-end of web and mobile applications. It supports varying user patterns of these apps based on the maximum number of input and output operations. AWS RDS also provides ready future expansion.
Web-Based and Mobile-Based Games
Amazon RDS is used to provide the high-performance database solutions that game development requires, both mobile and online.
SaaS Applications
The scalability, pay-as-you-go model, and compatibility of Amazon RDS provide a great appeal for SaaS applications.
Business Analytics
RDS’ reliability plays a big part in it being heavily used in business analytics. Its cost effectiveness and high availability are other reasons for its popularity.
Medical and Banking Compliance
Because of the high sensitivity of medical and banking applications, RDS’ managed services features like encryption, audit trails, and access controls make it favorable to meet compliance requirements.
Our RDS Delivery Roadmap
Pre-Deployment
Preparation and planning are done at this stage. An identification of the inter-dependencies between the application and the database is done and the workload of the database is analyzed to determine the appropriate migration strategy and instance sizing on RDS.
A suitable migration strategy is identified keeping in mind constraints and resource requirements.
Deployment
This phase involves designing the target database and data migration and validation.
Other actions undertaken include running the AWS Schema Conversion tool, making required application changes, running functional and performance tests, implementing suitable cutover strategies, and pointing applications to the newly migrated databases during downtime.
Post-Deployment
After successful database migration to RDS, post-deployment checks are performed to ensure the optimal performance of the RDS instance.
These tests ensure backups are present and confirm high availability and disaster recovery if required. They also test monitoring & alerting mechanisms and performance management.
