WILSONVILLE, Oregon – April 5, 1999 – Aspire Systems announced today the signing of a new contract with AVG, an electronics conglomerate based in Chicago. AVG’s group companies possess a high degree of vertical integration - manufacturing semiconductors, hybrids, circuit boards, assemblies, and finished industrial control products.
Aspire has been hired to help AVG with their Information Technology (IT) initiatives. One of the key objectives of the engagement is to develop a cohesive, consistent IT strategy for AVG companies. Due to the rapid growth of AVG, achieved in part through acquisitions, there has been a proliferation of different business systems throughout the group.
Aspire’s mission is to standardize all group companies on a common system and achieve efficient business processes.Aspire will also help AVG develop a new web presence, giving a consistent corporate image for the group. Future plans call for developing e-commerce and customer service functionality on the site.
