Role Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Retail Functional Consultant to lead business analysis, requirements elicitation, and functional solution design for retail transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep retail domain expertise and act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into scalable and effective solutions. The Retail Functional Consultant will drive end-to-end functional consulting activities across multiple use cases, including business process assessment, requirements management, user story creation, backlog refinement, solution design, and stakeholder engagement. This role serves as the primary functional bridge between the Centric business teams and the Aspire technical delivery team, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions

Key Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities #Business Analysis & Requirements Elicitation

  • Lead end-to-end business case analysis and requirements gathering across all project use cases and workstreams.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, discovery sessions, and process walkthroughs.
  • Analyze current-state business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Document business requirements, functional requirements, process flows, and business rules.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with business objectives.

Process Assessment & Improvement

  • Assess existing retail business processes and operating models.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend best-practice retail processes and future-state operating models.
  • Facilitate business process re-engineering and transformation initiatives.

Provide domain-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and customer experience

 #User Story Authoring & Backlog Management

  • Create and maintain detailed user stories, epics, features, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Project Managers to prioritize requirements.
  • Lead backlog grooming and refinement sessions.
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly understood by development and QA teams.
  • Support sprint planning and release planning activities.

#Functional Solution Design

  • Shape functional solutions that address business challenges while aligning with technical capabilities.
  • Provide functional leadership during solution design discussions
  • Review proposed solutions and make recommendations to optimize business value.
  • Validate that solution designs meet business requirements and operational needs.
  • Support configuration and functional validation activities.

Ensure adherence to architecture standards, security, and best practices

#Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Act as the primary functional liaison between Centric business stakeholders and Aspire technical teams.
  • Facilitate communication between business users, product owners, developers, QA teams, and project leadership.
  • Manage stakeholder expectation

Functional Leadership:

  • Lead functional analysis and solution design activities across multiple retail use cases.
  • Provide guidance on retail business processes and industry best practices.
  • Ensure functional consistency across project workstreams. Business-Technology Alignment
  • Translate business requirements into actionable functional specifications.
  • Ensure technical teams understand business priorities and expected outcomes.
  • Validate delivered solutions against business objectives. Product Backlog Ownership Support
  • Support Product Owners in backlog prioritization and management.
  • Ensure user stories are well-defined, testable, and business#focused.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement discussions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the transformation journey.
