Gowri Shankar Subramanian CEO
Gowri is a co-founder of Aspire Systems and currently serves as its CEO. In this position, he sets the strategic direction for Aspire and also oversees its day-to-day operations. Under his leadership, Aspire has grown at a CAGR of 63% over the past five years and has been ranked in Deloitte's list of fastest-growing companies in India and Asia-Pacific. Gowri believes in the power of outsourcing to transform industries and fundamentally alter business dynamics. Having watched up-close how sub-contract manufacturing transformed the electronics industry and how IBM, Cisco, HP, and others gradually outsourced all their manufacturing operations, Gowri firmly believes that software product building will go the same way and can be completely outsourced. This simple premise never fails to spark a substantial debate and it underlines everything that Aspire does. Gowri has been named as an upcoming, young CEO by The Economic Times, India's premier business newspaper, and as a top 20 executive in Information Technology by The WEEK. He is active in various industry associations and chairs NASSCOM's Regional Emerging Companies Forum in Chennai. He is also a Charter Member of TiE and a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. Gowri is an active speaker and has presented in various industry events and conferences. Bhoovarahan Thirumalai is one of the co-founders of Aspire Systems and currently serves as President – US Operations. In this position, he is primarily responsible for consolidating and expanding customer markets, while also being involved in setting a high-level strategic direction for the company. Prior to this assignment, he was instrumental in setting up Aspire's Global Innovation Center in Chennai, India. Bhoo is a firm believer that "success is a matter of willingness to succeed and to keep at it!". His 11+ years in Aspire has enabled him to interact with hundreds of growth stage ISVs - the management teams, founders, venture capitalists and other stakeholders. He is aware of their strategies, growth pains and successes - both from a product development perspective and a general management perspective of a growing firm. This gives him a unique edge in helping Aspire garner market-share in this space, as well as consulting with customers on the right thing to do with respect to product development and general product strategy. Prior to founding Aspire, Bhoo played a key role in helping one of India's largest engineering companies, Larsen & Toubro, establish a successful market presence in plastic injection molding machines. He is an entrepreneur by heart, having founded and run several successful ventures in various areas. Bhoo is a thought leader, and often quoted in leading media, about the software products market and the offshoring strategy of ISVs - including captive center dynamics. Shankar Krishnamoorthy CTO
Shankar is one of the co-founders of Aspire Systems and currently serves as its CTO. In this position, he is primarily responsible for the technology direction and product engineering excellence at Aspire. Shankar has 13+ years of experience in building software products for various customers. With the help of his Advanced Technology Group and other key players at Aspire, Shankar is focused on spearheading Producteering initiatives. Earlier, Shankar played several vital roles ranging from hands-on product development and project management to delivery and engagement management stints at Aspire. He has nurtured and grown several key customer relationships, and most recently led Aspire’s complete delivery operations before taking up the CTO role. Shankar’s varied exposure provides him an ideal platform from which to drive initiatives to make software development better and faster. Prior to Aspire, Shankar gained extensive software development experience building CAD/CAM softwares (AutoCAD and CADDS) and customer interaction experience while working at Neil Automation and ComputerVision, Inc. (Parametric Technology Corporation). Shankar has a Master's in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from Bharathiar University, India and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pondicherry University, India.
Sunil J N V Vice President (Delivery)
As Vice President (Delivery) of Aspire Systems, Sunil is responsible for managing the entire delivery process from Aspire’s Global Innovation Center in Chennai. With 14 years of varied experience in IT and Turnkey projects, Sunil has expertise in Software Services and Products alike – including Business Development and Acquisition, Business Unit Management, Program Management, Engagement and Delivery Management. Sunil has orchestrated software delivery management for large multi-site projects with over 300 resources and multiple technologies. He started his career with ETA Ascon as a Functional Analyst and later moved into Project Management. At HCL Technologies, a billion dollar IT services company, Sunil was responsible for multiple client engagements across different domains for Fortune 500 companies as Group Project Manager. He has also led 100 people teams, generated more than US $3 million revenue/year and established a “New Initiatives Group”, focused on identifying new domains and emerging technologies to work on, at HCL. His most recent assignment was with iSOFT as the Head of an entire Product Line that handled software development and implementation projects across a geography. At iSOFT, Sunil was in charge of end-to-end delivery management (From Product/Solution design and development to interfacing, data migration/synchronization and Go-Live) for large and complex enterprise-class projects. Sunil is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore and he has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University, India. |
